About the assignment

 

We are looking for our next committed and collaborative colleague who is eager to join us as Plant Maintenance Manager, reporting to the Plant Engineering Director, and will play an important role in starting up a completely new Volvo Car Plant in Kosice, Slovakia (VCK).

 

The maintenance organization is decentralized and where each shop has its maintenance function reporting to its respective shop and the plant maintenance function reporting to the plant engineering director. The shop and plant maintenance organizations are responsible for the end-to-end equipment maintenance in the plant. Apart from the operational responsibility as a maintenance function, there are also strategic responsibilities connected to developing, technology, methodology and competence to enable continuous availability improvement and cost optimization. As a plant maintenance manager, you will coordinate the best practice sharing of maintenance forums together with other VCC plants and within your own plant to align and strive for one common way of working globally.

 

As plant maintenance manager, you will establish the new plant engineering organization and create and build your own team. Together with manufacturing engineering and shop maintenance, you will secure that the best available techniques, standards, and processes are used.  Strategic work, Personal and Organizational planning will be a part of our daily work. Your focus is to ensure plant readiness for running production.

 

You will be a part of the Plant Engineering Team, responsible to recruit, train and build your maintenance organization using Value Oriented Maintenance Processes and tools. Drive and implement Volvo standards with all the shop maintenance organizations through a cross-plant maintenance network, coach and develop the VCK network together with all shop maintenance superintendents.

 

You will be responsible for setting up our spare part warehouse, tool shop, R&M (Reliability & Maintainability) and plant maintenance engineering.

Do you fit the profile?

 

We believe you are a person with a relevant university degree and experience as a leader in several production maintenance positions. You have a passion for cars and technology, and you are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Slovakian language skills will be a clear merit.  

To succeed in this role, we believe you have a significant ability to both develop and motivate employees together with extended knowledge within Value Oriented Maintenance, methods, tools, processes, production systems and ways of working in a factory. Value Stream Mapping, LEAN, Flow etc., is also meritorious. For us it is essential that you are curious and always willing to learn more, continuously searching for robust and efficient processes and organizations.
