What you'll do
We are currently looking for a colleague to join our product cybersecurity team located in Gothenburg, Sweden as an industrial PhD student and as part of the Volvo Cars Industrial PhD program.
In this role, you will develop scientific concepts and effectively communicate your research findings, both verbally and in writing. You will present your research internally at Volvo Cars and externally at conferences, seminars, and research journals. You will actively contribute to the Vinnova-funded research project MAGIC (Meeting Automotive Liability Challenges through Forensics Soundness), with a focus on Volvo Cars deliverables. You will collaborate with industrial and academic partners, participate in project workshops, and contribute to the overall project deliverables. Your research will involve acquiring knowledge and developing innovative methods for designing and deploying cyberattack-resilient systems with digital forensics capabilities. As part of your doctoral studies, you will take courses that will enhance your expertise and support your journey toward becoming an expert in your research field.

The work will be done at Volvo Cars and Chalmers University of Technology.
What you'll bring
To qualify for the PhD student position, candidates must hold a Master's degree (MSc) in Computer Science or a related field. A strong background in computer science, cybersecurity, and digital forensics, along with proficiency in programming languages and familiarity with AI/ML methods, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in conducting research within an industrial environment. The position also requires excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
