Unit SW Integration Leader

Vehicle Engineering is one of three development units within Engineering at Volvo cars. Vehicle Engineering develops interior, body & exterior, chassis & climate solution/systems. This position is placed in Gothenburg, Sweden.

 

Software Factory & Release is an enabling section with the purpose of building the SW, Continues Integration flow within the Vehicle Engineering unit. We provide skills within SW testing, HIL rigs, SW integration, and SW release flow.

 

Vehicle Engineering is now searching for an experienced SW integration leader with perceptive leadership skills. To succeed in this role, we believe you have experience from SW integration in larger contexts and CI (Continuous Integration). What you'll do

You will be the SW Integration Leader for Unit Vehicle Engineering and keep track and lead the SW integration into our main SW flow. The need for SW integration is increasing for several products and programs. You will make sure the testing required is done and that the change is in line with program's agreed product content and risks. In this work you will build a large contact network within Engineering.

 

As an Integration Leader within Unit Vehicle Engineering, you will be responsible for driving Integration-Driven Development across vehicle programs. You will plan, communicate, and execute the Software Integration Plan to ensure timely and successful deliveries ahead of key integration milestones (SWRD-A, SWRD-B). You will represent Vehicle Engineering in cross-functional forums and serve as the primary interface to Integration and Flow-Ops Leaders within the Central SW Factory and Enablers organization.

 

With your deep understanding of customer functions, software dependencies, and their compatibility with SDB/CIS, you will safeguard the quality of the master software flow. You will monitor and manage Vehicle Engineering fault reports that impact the SW master and actively support their resolution.

 

You will guide Software Teams within Vehicle Engineering on integration planning, software merge requests, and testing. Leveraging your extensive network, you will help resolve blockers and ensure alignment across teams. You will collaborate closely with other integration and release leaders, as well as with the Unit Test Leader in Vehicle Engineering to develop and execute integration-focused test plans. You will track test outcomes and support the Unit Program Manager with up-to-date software integration status for program reporting.

We believe you have experience from SW integration and Continuous Integration processes in earlier positions.

 

We see that you have an engineering background, university degree, or equivalent experience in the area concerned as well as documented leadership skills. Experience in automotive engineering is important. Understanding the Volvo Product Development processes are beneficial. Fluent in English written and spoken.
