Test Lead

Our unit's purpose is to develop and deliver Infotainment, Connectivity, Audio systems, Mobile App, and Digital Key as a world-class best digital user experience. We create connected services from the car to the cloud and our Mobile App.

What you'll do

We’re looking for a hands-on Test Lead who takes full ownership of product quality and is ready to shape how testing is embedded across the entire SDLC (software development lifecycle) – from requirements through release. In this role, you will define and execute the test strategy while actively contributing to testing activities yourself, working closely with development, product, and key stakeholders to balance business priorities, technical risk, quality, and delivery timelines.

This is a highly visible and demanding position with real accountability. You will navigate competing priorities, tight deadlines, and technical complexity, making and defending critical quality decisions when it matters most. The role requires resilience, strong ownership, and confidence – but it also offers substantial professional satisfaction. Your leadership will directly influence release readiness, elevate engineering standards, and have a tangible impact on product stability and stakeholder trust.

Test Strategy & Execution
You will define and maintain the overall test strategy, test plans, and quality goals, applying the right mix of manual, automated, exploratory, regression, integration, and system testing.
You will plan and coordinate testing across releases, ensure coverage at system and acceptance levels, and maintain clear traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Stakeholder Management and Collaborations
You will serve as our representative for our organization, participating in test strategy and execution discussions with the broader test hub and engineering community. Your role includes aligning strategies and coordinating test activities between our organization and the rest of Engineering.
You will lead and mentor test leads and QA engineers while remaining technically involved. As the main QA contact, you will communicate quality status, risks, and progress clearly, and actively participate in backlog refinement, increment plannings, and retrospectives.

Test Coverage Management
You will drive the Test Coverage lifecycle — logging, triage, prioritization, and follow-up with test leads and development teams. Using testing principles, you will ensure quality gates and release criteria are met and provide transparent release readiness assessments.

Automation & CI/CD
You will actively contribute to and evolve the test automation strategy, helping increase coverage and reliability.
This includes working with automation frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and improving overall testability in collaboration with engineering teams.

What you'll bring

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience with manual and automated testing for different stages or levels (e g system, integration, regression, exploratory, performance and stability testing)
• Test strategy creation for large complex technical systems
• Test management & defect tracking systems
• Experience with automation frameworks and CI/CD integration
• Solid understanding of SDLC, version control, and branch strategies in an evolving DevOps environment

Leadership & Experience

• Previous experience as Test Lead, Senior QA, or similar hands-on role
• Demonstrated ability to lead test teams and manage a large software organization
• Several years of best practices of operational software testing / QA 
• Many years of experiences of creating test strategies for complex products
• Proven ability to balance quality, scope, and delivery timelines
