Propulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars’ Centre for testing of propulsion systems, in complete vehicle as well as in component form. We operate and develop propulsion test facilities for vehicles, drivelines, electric motors, inverters, batteries, transmissions, as well as aerodynamic and climatic testing. Our work includes hardware- and software preparation of testing, test execution and processing of measurement data. We also develop and build new test facilities.


To meet the future, we need to invest in state-of-the-art test environments and continuously develop our test methods to ensure that we test and verify next generation cars in an efficient and correct manner. You will be responsible for the systemization of the complete test environment for both HW and SW testing of batteries at Battery Lab. You will work with method development, develop the lab for future needs and leading concept work during early phases. Together with the Battery lab teams and the developing organizations understand the requirement of the testbeds, both when it comes to data collection, accuracy needed for different test methods, capability, and legal requirement of today and for the future. Your target will be to make sure we build the right environment with the right capabilities to fulfill verification needs. You will also need to consider extending capabilities of existing test environments and how to fit new environments into an existing software infrastructure.

 

What you‘ll bring

We see that you have a M.Sc. or B.Sc in Electrical Engineering, or another related field. You have experience within validation and verification methods and knowledge in Physical Measurement techniques of batteries. You are familiar with Test Automation system - both HW and SW is meritorious. Experience from building up lab environment would be highly valued.

You are a great communicator who easily build new relationships, persistent enough to get the answers you need in order to succeed.
