Summer worker Diagnostic and Base Technologies 2

Each year, Volvo Cars welcome students as Summer workers to our sites in Sweden. Spending a few weeks wth us is a great way for you to get an insight to what life at Volvo Cars can be like and gives you a basic understanding of our operations. It also provides you with a strong network in our organization, which can be of value in your future career. The number of Summer work positions and work areas vary from year to year.

Let's introduce ourselves

You will become a member of an organisation with great team spirit within Diagnostics and Base Technologies, DBT, that forms part of the fundament for all electric control units in the entire electrical system.

More specifically you will become a member of either our Software Download team or the ComWired team. The teams are responsible for designing and verifying the generic Software Download technologies and Wired Communication within Volvo Cars.

In this position you will build and maintain a wide personal network with designers within many different system areas of the vehicle, as well as customer service departments and manufacturing engineering. As a part of our organisation, you get access to long term development opportunities in a dynamic and continuously growing field.

 

What you'll do

You get inspired by our mission to give our customers a better car experience every day. You will use your deep knowledge to test and enhance the SWDL technologies in the vehicle and surrounding systems.

Your main responsibilities together with the team includes:

  • Working with SWDL system testing activities and test automation.
  • Working with Wired Communication testing activities and test automation.

 

What you'll bring

You enjoy learning from others, as well as, sharing your knowledge with your colleagues. You are flexible and have excellent communication and documentation skills in English. You have a positive attitude and are a team player.

We believe that you have following basic skills and qualifications:

  • Ongoing studies M.Sc or B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Interest in software development (Python) for enabling automation
  • Swedish driver license (B), Optional
