The Road Operations EMEA team has the mission to ensure inbound transportation execution for production material to plants, warehouses and consolidation centers within Europe. The team is also responsible to ensure and execute transports for the returnflow of emballage from Volvo Cars terminals to Volvo Cars suppliers. The Road Operations team consists of 8 FTE in Sweden plus 2 FTE in Belgium.


What you'll do

The role of Transport Planner is located within the operational transport function within the Inbound Logistics organization (IBL) and will report to the Manager Road Operations & Control EMEA, however you will have a Senior Logistics Engineer to support you in the daily operations. The purpose of the Logistics Engineer role is to ensure transports are delivered on time, on budget and to the correct location. You will have a crucial role within the Inbound organization and for Volvo Cars overall.

This role will involve integration into a shift system with first shift beginning at 0630hrs and last shift ending at 1812hrs during weekdays. The working hours are aligned with Volvo Cars production which means that working hours may be planned on bank holidays and weekends.


The role is a high-paced operational position with critical timelines in order to secure the running of Volvo Cars production sites in Europe.

You are an accurate and detail oriented person, with the ability to work creatively and analytically with a problem-solving approach. We also believe that you can think outside the box and are eager to see the broader picture in what you do.



  • You have a B.Sc. degree within Supply chain/Logistics or equivalent relevant working experience.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in MS Excel.
  • Able to understand operational planning and resource allocation.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • If you have an operational background and/or experience in logistic processes, transportations or forwarding business that knowledge is highly beneficial.

Duration: All summer worker positions will take place during the period June-August 2019 for a total work period of up to 10 weeks depending on the position. Note that some departments might be closed for a period during week 29-32.
