What you'll do

The purpose of the central function is to ensure outbound distribution for cars produced in Gent, Torslanda, China and US. This function is critical to manage the timely shipping of cars on a daily basis. We are mandated and have a commitment to deliver on time, on budget with a service mind-set. 
The role, Transport Operations Summer worker, is operational with responsibility across a wide range of business areas within Volvo Cars and is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

You will monitor and drive carrier transport performance and lead Carrier Management to improve operational performance and interact with stakeholders within Volvo Cars and Importers and drive process improvements.

You will also:
•    Monitor KPI’s of appointed carriers and carry out regular reviews 
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and internal stakeholders to facilitate a positive working environment
•    Ensure support to colleagues when needed/requested and contribute to a positive team working environment
•    Execute car deliveries for Volvo Cars and affiliates.

We believe you have:
•    Preferable Bachelor or Master Studies ongoing in Logistics, Economics or similar.
•    Strong customer-focus and service mind-set with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
•    Good communication skills and not afraid to take difficult conversations both internally and externally to secure deliverables.
•    Understanding of managing multiple complex relationships.
•    Understanding of general freight forwarding. 
•    Good understanding of transportation documentation and export requirements.
•    Ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change. 
•    Able to work during a 10 week period in the summer months.
