Each year, Volvo Cars welcome students as Summer Interns to our sites in Gothenburg, Olofström, Skövde och Lund. As a Summer Intern at Volvo Cars you can work in production, in one of our storages or at the office. Spending a few weeks in our team is a great way for you to get an insight to what life at Volvo Cars can be like and gives you a basic understanding of our operations. It also provides you with a strong network in our organization, which can be of value in your future career. The number of Summer intern positions and work areas varies from year to year.
Let's introduce ourselves
At department Climate we are responsible of making a comfortable climate and secure good air quality for the car occupants. Our systems also support other components with cooling and heating to create optimal conditions for increased efficiency. We design the complete climate system as well as develops the software for controlling all parts of the system.
To improve the development of the Climate System we need support making data collected from cars accessible and presented in a useful way. During this summer we are looking for a person that can continue the work of developing tools for presenting and visualizing the available data for developers to speed up the process of increasing data utilization
What you'll do
We are looking for a self-driven individual that is familiar with data processing using Python. Also important to be able to listen in to the need of others and being able to attack problems from another person's viewpoint.
During the summer you will be challenged with tasks like:
• Communicate through APIs with data sources like Databricks and Snowflake
• Processing data both locally and on cloud services
• Develop tools for data visualizing using Python Dash and Jupyter Notebook
To succeed with the tasks not only do you need knowledge within Python scripting but also good ability to collect information from the intended users and being able to realize there whishes into working functions.
What you'll bring
Required Qualifications:
• Experience in Python
• Experience using git
• Fluent in English
• Studying at university or equivalent level
Meritorious:
• Experience working with Pandas module in Python
• Experience working with Dash module in Python
• Experience working with Jupyter Notebook
