At Software Factory, we are building a community of highly skilled professionals. By harmonizing workflows and developing common tools across R&D, we accelerate software development at Volvo Cars.
We are responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) architecture and infrastructure
• Managing the end-to-end software build and CI/CD flow
• Maximizing the utilization of infrastructure, test objects, and test artifacts
• Creating automated tools and applications to enable an efficient development flow
• Ensuring traceability to meet legal and compliance requirements

By driving Continuous Integration, we accelerate development while improving quality. We are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our journey.
What you'll do
As a Software Engineer at Software Factory, you will work across the full CI/CD chain—from architecture to deployment—contributing to the development and evolution of our CI/CD ecosystem using DevOps principles.
You will be part of a highly competent agile team, driving impact by developing applications and solutions that strengthen our continuous integration and delivery capabilities. You will support development teams across R&D by enabling efficient CI/CD tools, processes, and ways of working.
In this role, you will:
• Configure, implement, and automate CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery
• Integrate and support test automation frameworks within the CI/CD environment
• Continuously improve the speed, scalability, stability, and efficiency of the CI/CD systems and infrastructure
• Contribute code and enhancements to evolve and strengthen the overall CI/CD ecosystem
• Act as a bridge between development teams and IT, capturing needs, trends, and improvement opportunities
• Support and guide teams in adopting CI/CD best practices and ways of working
What you'll bring
You are a structured and proactive engineer with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for building reliable and scalable CI/CD solutions. You take initiative, drive improvements, and enjoy solving complex technical challenges. As a collaborative team player, you communicate effectively and work across disciplines to enable efficient development workflows. You are also comfortable navigating ambiguity and contributing to continuous improvement in an agile environment.
We believe you have:
• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Hands-on experience with programming and scripting in multiple languages (e.g. C/C++, Python, Go)
• Solid understanding of embedded systems CI/CD, automated testing, and disciplined software development practices
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git, Gerrit)
• Experience with CI/CD infrastructure tools (e.g. Jenkins, Zuul CI, or similar)
• Experience with relevant tools and technologies such as Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes
Meritorious skills:
• Experience working with Linux environments (Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Grafana, ELK stack)
• Experience with private cloud solutions (e.g. VMware, OpenShift, OpenStack, Rackspace)
• Experience working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
