What We Offer
Our Power Electronics department is a pioneering unit within Volvo Cars, dedicated to designing and developing cutting-edge products such as traction inverters, on-board chargers, and DC/DC converters. We continuously strive to enhance our power electronics products in terms of efficiency, power density, weight, and cost, improving quality with each generation.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will join our AC/DC DC/DC HW team, primarily focusing on the development of AC/DC converters (on-board chargers) in collaboration with development suppliers (tier 1).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with requirements, technical regulations, and agreements with development suppliers.
- Leading technical design reviews and managing supplier relations.
- Engaging in cost engineering, benchmarking, and reporting status/progress.
- Implementing Quality Assurance practices such as FMEAs.
- Collaborating closely within the team and across the Propulsion & Energy division to implement optimal solutions.
What You’ll Bring
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A university degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Over 6 years of experience in product development, with a solid understanding of the entire development process from concept to delivery.
- A strong first-principles design approach in the power electronics domain.
- Experience with AC/DC & DC/DC converters
- Knowledge of EMC and EMI filters, PFC, and DC/DC stages.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
