We are looking for an experienced engineer within the field of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) who can, together with our experienced team, assist in the transformation to future technologies and solutions.

The EMC teams are responsible for the Attribute Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in complete cars. We work with design guidelines, requirements, analysis, simulations, and tests to ensure that system integration into complete vehicle is successful. The EMC section is a part of Software & Electronics Platform (SWEP) solution within Volvo Car's Engineering division, currently divided into three teams, one component team, one release team and one service team. We are in total 18 employees today.

Working with EMC means that you establish and develop relationships with developers within almost all system areas of the vehicle as well as building an understanding of the designs in those areas. In this position, you will therefore build and maintain a wide personal network within Engineering. You have degrees of freedom to form your deliveries and to develop your own skills.

As a Senior Analysis Engineer within EMC, you will build and maintain a wide network within Volvo Cars as well as with external partners. You will have a place where you can form your deliveries and develop your own skills. As a part of our team, you get access to long-term development opportunities in a dynamic and continuously growing area.

We are looking for an EMC-engineer with the main task to work with our partly or fully electrified drivelines. You will also assist in building the competencies needed within Volvo Cars to enable an effective EMC development process for the future.

 

You will

  • mainly work with our partly or fully electric drivelines including chargers and charging cables.
  • both participate and drive in project meetings together with the developing areas to secure a proper EMC performance.
  • assist in testing on component-, system- and on complete vehicle level.
  • report test results to the developing areas
  • be a part of the development of test methods and test setups on component, system, and complete vehicle level.
  • participate in troubleshooting and balancing the product to achieve the very best results.
  • participate in Advanced Engineering and Research projects within the area.

 

What you’ll bring

 

We see our next EMC engineer as not only being competent, confident, and persevering but also having:

 

  • University degree in electronics, physics, computational electromagnetics or other equivalent experience
  • Documented experience in the development of electric drivelines
  • Documented experience in the development of high frequency circuits or power circuits is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capabilities and willingness to develop/teach/coach/mentor.
  • Good communication skills and presentation techniques
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience of the automotive industry or other electrical technologies
