Senior & Expert Accountants

You will be part of our Global accounting delivery team within our Finance function, based in Gothenburg, and responsible to ensure accurate financial reporting according to applicable accounting standards.  We collaborate across functions and geographies to:

•    Drive value creation
•    Ensure compliance and provide accounting expertise
•    Improve and standardise processes
•    Enable digitalisation and continuous improvements

Whether you join as a Senior Accountant supporting the accounting activities of one of our Sales Companies (e.g., UK, Canada) or as an Expert Accountant focusing on Related Parties & Intercompany, you will play a key role in safeguarding financial quality and enabling change. 

What you'll do

Depending on your level (Senior or Expert), your responsibilities may include:

Core Responsibilities Across All Roles
•    Deliver monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities
•    Ensure high-quality, compliant accounting and reporting in line with IFRS and relevant local standards
•    Support audits and ensure timely, accurate deliverables
•    Collaborate with Group Accounting, Tax, Global Accounting Centre Madrid, local controlling teams, and other business functions

Senior Accountant Focus (NSC UK / NSC Canada)
•    Manage the accounting activities for a Sales Company (market-specific responsibility)
•    Act as a key accounting partner for local controlling teams
•    Represent Global Accounting Delivery in mid-complex initiatives and projects
•    Coordinate and ensure completion for Annual Reports 

Expert Accountant Focus (Related Parties & Intercompany)
•    Lead accounting and reporting related to Related Parties and Intercompany activities
•    Support notes for the Volvo Car Corporation & Group Annual Reports
•    Act as an accounting expert for new business models and projects

What you'll bring

•    Good understanding of accounting processes, financial control frameworks and IFRS
•    Solid analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial information
•    Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver on commitments
•    Strong communication skills — able to explain accounting topics clearly to various stakeholders
•    High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
•    Curiosity, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem solving
•    Collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships across teams and markets
•    Experience with SAP R/3 or S4 Hana, Onestream (advantage but not required)
•    Ability to see the big picture while ensuring accuracy
•    University degree in Business Administration; fluency in English
