Remarketing Operations Manager

Your Mission

As our Remarketing Operations Manager, you will be part of our team developing the Volvo Car Remarketing Business on a global and EMEA level; including decisional tools and systems. This entails goals such as maximizing sales, profitability, and efficiency of Volvo Car remarketing. Travel will be required around EMEA and potentially globally, around 20% in order to be effective in this role.


What you’ll do

  • Develop a remarketing system strategy in cooperation with key countries and the VCC Used Car team.
  • Drive the remarketing competence developments and requirements throughout Volvo, with the NSCs and Volvo sister companies. 
  • Work closely with suppliers and in-house departments such as IT, Finance, Sales, Aftersales.
  • Generate business insights and provide marketplace expertise for VCC used car and remarketing systems (RMS and UCL).
  • Business Application Manager for End-to-end Used Car Solution (RMS and UCL). Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders across the region throughout the implementation projects.
  • Lead E2E RMS Market Working Group. Drive progress and continuous alignment between markets and IT team on product development, priorities, and business metrics.
  • MCRP (Modular Control Review Program) responsible for E2E solution, i.e. all internal control related task
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to facilitate understanding of main drivers of remarketing business.

  • Work closely with the markets to understand their needs with Used Car Systems (Fleet Management – International / National Remarketing / Dealer Sales / Direct Sale to Customer)
  • Develop business requirements and secure continued evolution of the Used Car Systems
  • You are the Lead contact between system suppliers - markets and the internal departments. Participation in program review meetings and other such forums is required.
  • Facilitate system roll-outs; Drive implementation in cooperation with Volvo’s sister brands, partners, regions, markets. Actively work with new markets during roll-outs ensuring change management, engagement, going onsite (as required).
  • Oversee and prioritize system enhancements such as CRs and new feature requests.
  • Ensure data integrity of remarketing systems (troubleshoot issues with IT as required)
  • Drive innovations in online systems – multi-channel sales and online retailing approaches, employ new media channels to fulfill customer expectations of Remarketing business.
  • Develop analysis to create revenue-driven remarketing strategies; Facilitate cross border sales that optimize residual value throughout EMEA maintaining healthy supply and demand.
  • Develop and direct vehicle remarketing strategy, including alternative sales methods to achieve volume objectives while protecting residual values.
  • Oversee auction pricing for rental and company vehicles throughout Europe.
  • Implement stock control and pre-warning indicators to protect the vital business.
  • Work with Finance, sales and used car teams to avoid problematic stock structures.
  • Follow up with local markets on external stock evaluation and provision building.
  • Develop global KPI reporting and control mechanisms aligned with related VCC businesses.
  • Ensure close cooperation with the VCC SELEKT Manager
  • Prepare and submit Remarketing reports to Volvo Car Executive Manager.


Do you fit the profile?

In this business critical role for Volvo Cars, we seek someone who has excellent and documented knowledge of used and new car sales-everything from marketing to financial analysis and strategic planning. You must have international experience and a passion for customers and cars.

  • University degree required- in business, economics or technology fields is preferred
  • Product management experience related to IT product, preferably in Automotive business.
  • Strong interest in new technologies
  • Strong communication skills (ability to persuade and to make effective presentations).
  • Effective negotiation skills to negotiate with a multitude of business partners
  • Effective leadership skills related to problem-solving, decision making and team building
