What you’ll do
At Manufacturing Engineering within Volvo Cars, you will play a pivotal role in leading projects that ensure our production systems meet the highest standards in flexibility, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Working in close collaboration with global teams. As a project leader within Industrialization Engineer team, your role is to introduce and verify product and develop process changes within programs & non-product projects in a safe and quality assured way. You work in a global environment with a cross-functional team and support your team members in a flexible way. You're accountable for time, technical aspects, and cost for implementing needed equipment and processes with the operator in focus.
You will Lead the project from pre-study to project closure, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with business objectives.

Your key responsibilities include
• Execute projects in accordance with the Project Directive and the Tooling & Equipment Process (Industrialization).
• Plan, manage, and deliver both product and non-product projects within Final Assembly.
• Ensure that all processes, including layouts and assembly flows, are clear, well-documented, and continuously optimized.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to secure successful project execution and alignment with new production concepts.
• Report project status and updates to stakeholders regularly, ensuring effective communication and transparency.
• Propose necessary changes to the project steering group to optimize outcomes.
• Secure necessary staffing by coordinating with resource owners to meet project.
• Ensure smooth communication and coordination between team members and across departments to facilitate efficient project flow.
• Manage and follow up on the project budget, ensuring that financial targets are met.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the Volvo finance system (SAP), particularly in managing investments, disposals, and capitalization within the project.
• Guarantee that all financial aspects, including "Disposal of Asset" and inventory lists (Wall to Wall), are accurately reflected and tracked within the budget.
• Ensure the RFQ (Request for quotation) process is carried out smoothly, with standards and technical specifications clearly compiled by the project team.
• Secure buy-off books, where applicable, and ensure that handover material is produced by the project team.
• Lead efforts in process design, ensuring best practices are applied, and improvements are identified and implemented.
• Participate in the strategic development of area layouts and processes, working closely with the global manufacturing engineering team.
What you´ll bring
• A technical bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in project leadership, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
• Familiarity with the Milestone process and the Tooling & Equipment Process.
• Expertise in financial management, including budget tracking and reporting, particularly within SAP.
• Strong understanding of industrial and production processes, with experience in automation, manufacturing systems, and logistics
• Competence in process design methodologies, including LEAN, VCMS, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban.
• Tooling & Equipment Process.
• You have knowledge in Volvo finance system (SAP).
• The documentation system (Teamcenter)
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage resources, resolve conflicts, and ensure seamless project flow.
• A strategic mindset with a global perspective, able to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and global teams.
• Fluency in English language is required and knowledge of Swedish language is a significant advantage due to the local plant’s setup in Gothenburg.
