Measurement Engineer

Let's introduce ourselves

Within Testing Technology & Metrology (TTM), we create the conditions for Engineering to develop and test future Volvo products in a smart, efficient, and cost‑conscious way. Our team is responsible for acquiring, managing, and providing Engineering teams with measurement equipment and development tools, while ensuring order, quality, availability, and effective utilization.

We work closely with our strategy and support group within TTM Metrology, and together we play an important role in Volvo Cars’ development and testing flows.

We are now looking for a Measurement Engineer who is passionate about structure, quality, clarity, and improvement work – and who wants to strengthen an area that is becoming increasingly important within Engineering.

What you'll do

In this role you will drive improvement work and develop clear, documented ways of working and routines – both within TTM and for our customers in Engineering. You are to ensure that our processes are followed up, quality-assured, and continuously improved. You will also analyse and administer to optimize equipment flows, enabling cost‑efficient acquisition.

Help develop our systems and databases, including exploring how AI‑based solutions can help with analysis, documentation, and other tasks.

Your work will contribute to the development of systems and databases that support an efficient organization as well as ensure that our customers receive the right equipment at the right time through effective lending and structured resource planning.

As needed, you would be leading strategic initiatives within metrology and development tools, focusing on quality, processes, and long‑term efficiency. You will also collaborate and communicate with internal customers as well as external suppliers as well as work closely with teams within Electric Propulsion, Active Safety, Chassis, and Electrics/Electronics.

What you'll bring

You would bring a B.Sc. degree in metrology, electronics, mechatronics, quality, or similar education/experience as well as basic knowledge of metrology, preferably connected to vehicle development.

You would also bring experience of documenting, structuring, and developing processes and routines. You have the ability to work cost‑consciously and understand the full flow of tools and equipment.

You bring strong administrative skills and experience working with databases or systems (experience with Axxos is a merit). You communicate very well in Swedish and have good English skills for daily work and documentation. You bring experience in the ability communicate articulately and professionally with suppliers and a customer‑focused mindset.

You bring experience with network structure and analysis within automotive, including knowledge of systems such as NUC, WICE, and SoftHub. You have data logger knowledge as well as the ability to define measurement strategies and roadmaps.

You will share information and ensure knowledge is transferred inside and outside the team. You would enjoy working in teams and interacting with people.

You are curious, driven, and willing to continue developing.

What is also beneficial for you in the role is if you bring experience from testing, development, or similar engineering environments. You have knowledge of tools (HW & SW) used in testing or development. Experience or education in using or evaluating AI‑based tools for analysis, documentation, or technical support. Also carry a driving license (B category).
