Propulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars’ Centre for testing propulsion systems in complete vehicle as well as in component form. We operate and develop propulsion test facilities and workshops for vehicles, drivelines, as well as aerodynamic and climatic testing. The Laboratory work includes hardware- and software preparation of tests, test execution and processing of measurement data. We also develop and build new test facilities, which include new test types. 

At Emission & Energy Support and Labs we now are looking for an Emission Service Engineer to join our Vehicle Propulsion & Climate Test Centre within Engineering shared service operations team.

What you'll do

To meet future requirements, we rely on state-of-the-art tools, methods, and test environments to verify and validate next-generation vehicles efficiently and with high quality.
As an Emission Service Engineer, you will be responsible for planned maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibration of emission measurement equipment in our test facilities and laboratories. The role includes ownership of annual service and calibration activities across multiple rigs within the Emission & Energy area.
You will work daily in our maintenance management system (Maximo), where you will prioritize, plan, and execute assigned tasks in a structured and timely manner. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders operating the supported test rigs, as well as with external partners and suppliers.

What you'll bring

  • Higher technical education with hands-on mechanical work experience
  • Several years of experience working as a Service Engineer or in a similar technical role
  • Solid knowledge of emissions, engine and/or transmission development or manufacturing, or other relevant areas within automotive engineering
  • Familiarity with automotive, preferrably Vovo Cars, engineering standards and engineering systems
  • Electrical authorization at any level is considered meritorious
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license (B)
