Our business since its inception in 1991 has been to develop the best retail dealer system and information services for the automotive industry. In the current situation, we have about 100 employees with expertise in areas such as automotive trade, project management, systems and IT. Some of our largest customers are Volvo, Renault and Ford dealers and their general agents and today we have over 10 000 users of our solutions. We are seated in beautiful, newly renovated premises at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Car Sweden.

What’s in it for you?

User Experience as a discipline is a key part of Volvo Cars' strategy and will help gather insights about our users and define and craft the next generation of drivers' and passengers' experiences of Volvos.

We are seeking a Head of the UX Guide team. This is a Director-level position that is part of UX leadership team.

The Guide team works across key product areas to provide Design alignment, create designer tools and support strategic areas.

What you will do
You will lead a team of multi-disciplinary UX Professionals that define the foundational guidance, design tools and design inspiration for the Volvo Cars UX organisation. Design inspiration is about defining the creative expression of Volvo’s digital products. You will work with other UX leaders and company stakeholders to align the direction and define the systems that make Volvo Cars excel in in its core product and service experiences. For designer tools, you will help provide tools for the rest of the the UX team to support design alignment, speed of implementation, and cultural development, such as supporting communication, defining libraries, courses, and more to promote user experience best practices, and help make the UX and product teams more efficient.


You will be an advocate for UX and its related disciplines and work with stakeholder across the company for creative alignment. This role helps provide a holistic view on the user experience so we can keep things aligned across the teams.

Who you are

You’ve been designing for 15+ years for a consumer-focused tech company, so you understand what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented experiences. Additionally you have:


  • Proven experience managing teams of designers and other creative professionals to achieve great results.
  • Experience building tools, processes, facilitation and communications to support design advocacy and team efficiency.
  • Experience developing design guidelines, design systems, icon systems, brand guidelines and more.

You are a strong collaborator and communicator, able influence senior stakeholders and build collaboration at a company level. You can inspire teams towards action and empathy for the user. You have a people-focused design mentality.

Show, don't tell
You should be able to tell the story in a portfolio and presentation of work process the above capabilities. Applicants submitting portfolios will be prioritised. 

Location Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

As a leadership position, the candidate is expected to primarily be onsite.
