At department Interior Trim & Material, we are responsible for delivering a great customer experience of our interior, Scandinavian design, luxury, and safety. We lead the development of new materials and solutions into the vehicle and balanced to project requirements. Our diverse group consists of around twenty+ persons with different competences and backgrounds and who - despite different responsibilities and expertise – work in our teams.
What you'll do
You will be part of one of our teams developing Floor System & Luggage team. Fast changes and proactivity are part of our daily work, and we are working with the flow according to current needs and development of the product.
Your role will be a cross-functional task leader within Floor System & Luggage Compartment. As a Development Engineer you will lead the design and development task within a cross-functional team according to time, technology, quality and costs targets. You will work together with internal teams, outsourced partners and suppliers to fulfill product and project deliverables and meet milestones.
What you'll bring
You have at least a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or equivalent qualifications. You are expected to have experience from the automotive industry and product development processes, combined with an excellent ability to see the complexity of the whole process and understand the system requirements. You have documented experience development at OEM or supplier. Good technical understanding and preferable CAD experience (preferable Catia).
It would be an advantage to have Team Center and Volvo Product Development Process knowledge and experience. Knowledge of VCC systems is advantage. Fluent English (written & verbal) is mandatory and having a driver’s license (B) would be meritorious.
Not only do you have a broad technical understanding, but also courage and a passion for success and leading. The role demands you to be decisive, have a high degree of integrity and self-drive. You need to lead by example and guide your colleagues effectively and knowledgeable. Self-sufficiency and inclusive attitude with to-do mind-set are an asset that will bring you success in this position.
In this position we expect someone with great communication and presentation skills. You should have great interest in design and product development. Further, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow, have the leadership skills, and wants to develop them even more. As a Development Engineer, we expect you to inspire and motivate colleagues, thereby driving and leading projects to the next level.
Leadership experience is important, as well as having the integrity and knowledge to be able to lead in the right direction, with the right arguments while maintaining a constructive collaboration with external suppliers.
