About our Global Graduate Program
The Global Graduate Program is a 2-year career-boosting program designed around your potential in our global organization! We offer two program tracks – Business and Tech – allowing both future business enablers and skilled engineers to thrive and develop with us.
As a business track graduate, you will experience a variety of business functions and cross-functional projects. As a tech track graduate, you will sharpen and apply your technical skills across multiple areas in the organization. Both career paths are equally important to successfully drive transformation!
Every year, Volvo Cars welcomes around 50 graduates from all over the world. By joining the program, you become part of an inclusive community of a wide range of professionals and previous graduates. Throughout the program you will all come together for common module weeks, group projects, and learning opportunities.
The rotational program takes you on a journey within Volvo cars where you get to explore your skills and interests in different departments during the two years. You will start in the department which you are recruited into.
Year 1
- 18 August: Graduate Program kick off
- Module weeks 1: Global Introduction & Business Understanding
- Rotation in your home department
- Module weeks 2: Product Development & Production
- Rotation in new department
- Module weeks 3: Commercial Module
- Graduate group project
Year 2
- 2-3 Rotations in new department, opportunity for international experience
- Final Graduation project
- Module week 4: Leadership Foundations & Final week
- 8 Juli 2027 - Graduation

Drive the future of Sustainable Materials with improved performance
For Materials Science we offer a position within Materials Engineering Centre with a focus on battery cells materials analysis and it´s electrochemistry aspects to be able to build efficient simulation models.
We also offer a position within Product & Process Casting with a focus on alloy chemistry.

Are you one of our new Graduates
To be considered for the program, you must have a master's degree completed between December 2023 and the start of the program. For this cluster, we are looking for graduates with degrees in Engineering/Materials Science, Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering or similar.
Meritorious is knowledge within electro chemistry, alloy chemistry, molding technologies, high or low pressure die casting. You enjoy working both strategically and with very hands-on activities.
What our Global Graduate Program offers
You will get:
- Permanent employment from start, and after the program you will have a position within your hiring managers organization
- Work permit support given where necessary. Relocation support offered for international moves
- 39 000 SEK monthly gross salary
- 3500 SEK health care allowance per year (to use on wellness activities such as our inhouse gym)
- Vacation benefits according to the Swedish annual leave act and Collective Agreement

Recruitment process
Advertisements are open November 1st – December 1st. All eligible candidates will be invited to conduct online assessments. The final day to complete them is December 4th, invites are sent weekly.
You may apply to multiple graduate advertisements but will only do the assessments once. For some of our technical positions, there will be programming tests at a later stage in the recruitment process.
Candidates selected for the next stage will be invited to record short video interviews, followed by a first screening interview via Teams. The last step in the recruitment process is an in-depth Behavioral and Domain interview with hiring manager and an HR representative. The final interviews will be conducted via Teams during January and February 2025. Employment offers are communicated continuously during March 2025.
