Let's introduce ourselve
Within Painted Body, the Body Technology group are working with strategies, pre-development, concept development and operational development. The group works with Materials & Joining and CAE. We deliver new technical solutions, based upon our deep knowledge of materials, efficient structures and joining solutions for car bodies. We now need to reinforce the group with a person to support our advanced engineering assignments focusing on materials development, with focus on metals for structural applications.
As the use of cast aluminum continues to rise in structural automotive applications, such as Volvo’s Mega Castings, understanding the final mechanical properties of these components is critical. These properties depend on multiple factors, including raw material sources, production processes, tool design, and the casting process itself. At Volvo Cars, we prioritize expanding our knowledge through physical trials and CAE simulations to enhance component performance
