What you'll do

As a Senior Function Owner and Function Developer for the VIDA Fault Tracing Process, you will lead the strategic development, requirement definition, and verification of fault tracing functionality within Volvo’s VIDA platform. This role combines senior-level business analysis, process ownership, and hands-on functional development to ensure the fault tracing process is robust, user-centric, and aligned with diagnostic and service market needs.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, support development, and verify that delivered solutions meet expectations through structured test cases and validation activities.

You will act as a key interface between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring the fault tracing process delivers high diagnostic accuracy, usability, and value across global service operations.

Function Ownership & Strategy

• Define and own the fault tracing process strategy within VIDA, ensuring alignment with diagnostic architecture and service market goals
• Act as the primary point of contact for fault tracing functionality across product, engineering, and business teams
• Ensure process scalability, maintainability, and alignment with digital transformation initiatives

Requirement Management

• Lead the collection, analysis, and documentation of business and system requirements for fault tracing
• Translate diagnostic logic and service workflows into clear, actionable requirements for development teams
• Maintain requirement traceability and ensure alignment with VIDA platform capabilities

Function Development & Collaboration

• Collaborate with software developers and diagnostic engineers to guide implementation of fault tracing features
• Provide functional input during design and development phases to ensure technical feasibility and business value
• Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization activities

Verification & Validation

• Design and execute test cases to verify that developed functionality meets stated requirements
• Perform functional testing and validation of fault tracing logic and user experience
• Document test results and coordinate issue resolution with development teams
• Ensure quality assurance through structured verification processes and stakeholder reviews

Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement

• Monitor performance metrics and user feedback to identify improvement opportunities
• Drive enhancements based on diagnostic accuracy, usability, and service efficiency
• Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders across engineering, product, and service domains

What you'll bring

You would carry a Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a related field as well as 7+ years of experience in aftermarket automotive diagnostics, system ownership, or business analysis. You carry proven experience in requirement management, functional development, and verification. You would also bring strong understanding of VIDA or similar diagnostic platforms and fault tracing logic.

In this role you would bring experience using Carweaver for writing requirements and test cases. You have excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills. You have experience working in agile environments and cross-functional teams. 

Some of the preferred skill would include strong experience in the aftermarket automotive business, with deep understanding of service workflows and diagnostic processes. You have demonstrated expertise in requirement management, comparable to a senior business analyst, with ability to translate complex business needs into structured, testable requirements. You would also have proficiency in tools such as Carweaver, PIE, and Fault Tracing Tool(s) along with familiarity with VIDA and its diagnostic architecture is a significant advantage. Futhermore, you will have the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives effectively, ensuring stakeholder alignment and solution relevance.
