What you’ll do

 

The Supplier Performance Management team is part of Procurement, responsible for Volvo Cars suppliers’ management, ensuring that suppliers deliver parts in required quality, quantity and on time.

We offer Collaboration within Global Procurement teams, dynamic and flexible environment, communicating and acting with internal and external stake holders.

 

In this role, you will be a key player in leading supplier readiness, performance and development activities for your category within the Software & Electronics area. You will be involved in all phases of the Volvo supplier business, from strategic work to running production. Together with your colleagues in the Global Category Team, R&D colleagues and suppliers you are responsible to secure supplier readiness from early phase to launch in projects and challenge suppliers to continuously improve their Q&D performance in running production.
As a person you need to dare to question the status quo or specific paths with stakeholders, suppliers, people; and work proactively to build better understanding and work for common solutions.
In this role you will contribute to the company´s growth but as well to your own personal and professional development.
 

 

Your responsibility:

  • Collaborate on Product Strategy within the category team.
  • Assessment and evaluation of potential suppliers, using Volvo Cars tools and methods.
  • Validate supplier status, using APQP process in all program phases, leading to completion of quality and capacity requirements.
  • Part approval process and successful launch using PPAP procedure.
  • Continuous improvement with suppliers during serial production.
  • Problem solving during industrialization, running production phase and warranty.
  • Change management.
  • Manage issue resolution for critical supplier, during sourcing, industrialization and running production phases.

 

What you‘ll bring

 
We are looking for a person with experience from quality assurance of supplier manufacturing processes and/or manufacturing engineering background. You have strong drive, pro-active mindset and sense of urgency to resolve disturbances caused by suppliers. 
 
 You and your skills:

  • Good knowledge and experience in electronics, harness and/or connector area. Preferably KSK or JIS
  • Feel confident with and enjoy challenges and adapt well to changes. 
  • Know and feel confident working with quality assurance tools and processes (PPAP, FMEA, CP, SPC. MSA, 8D, 5why, Problem solving etc.)
  • take initiatives and ownership for your area of responsibility.
  • Used to challenge suppliers and not afraid to face demanding situations.
  • Confident in representing Volvo during supplier meetings and visits.
  • Accountable for your area of responsibility.
  • Deliver results to meet defined targets.
  • Manage parallel activities and prioritize.
  • Team player, strong collaborator, internally and externally.
  • Continuously work actively with self-development.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken.
  • Able to travel frequently.

 

To succeed in this role, you have a Business or Technical University degree (or equivalent).
You have experience from Quality and/or Manufacturing work (3+ year) including Supplier Quality performance assurance.

Experience within KSK and JIS manufacturing processes for wire harness is beneficial!
