Group Accounting consists of eighteen dedicated employees who are responsible for the Volvo Cars consolidation and for providing financial data on consolidated level for Volvo Car Group to ensure timely, accurate and uniform data to internal and external parties.
We are now looking for an Expert within Group Accounting. The responsibility includes preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements for Volvo Car Group and reporting of Group Actuals in line with IFRS requirements. The reporting is prepared for both internal and external stakeholders and the role also includes analysis of certain parts of the Group Actuals. The position requires extensive contact with different organizations within Finance as well as with external auditors. As an Expert in the Group Accounting team you are also expected to provide guidance to the organization in IFRS related questions within your specific area. You will also participate in different projects and/or take a role in projects related to the continuous development of the Group Accounting function.
Working in the Group Accounting team gives you a big opportunity to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, working globally and cross-functionally, as well as getting a comprehensive view of the financial activities within the group.
What you'll do
You’ll perform professional accounting work including compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data, which requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles and bookkeeping experience.
Job Responsibilities:
• Being a part of the closing process on Group level including group consolidation and external and internal financial reporting.
• Closing coordinator, ensuring closing checklists, group instructions, and being first point of contact to help entities in their reporting with late corrections.
• Internal control related questions and coordination of the self-assessment review
• Preparation of part of the Group Actuals financial analysis
• Prepare input to interim and annual reports, quality checks of external reporting such as analyst presentations, interims reports and annual report
• Provide guidance in IFRS accounting questions
• Participation in different projects – mainly related to digitalization of Group analytical tools, but also Accounting processes and Accounting Governance/ IFRS related questions
What you'll bring
We are looking for an open-minded and driven team player who takes ownership for any given task. The person shall have refined communications skills and a high level of business acumen. Having a holistic mindset, a structured way of working and good analytical skills are also key factors in this role. Further, you are motivated by working independently and being able to contribute on our exciting journey ahead.
• University degree in Business Administration - Major in Accounting and/or Finance
• Solid experience in finance from either a large listed entity and/or audit environment.
• Solid experience from consolidation and group accounting and reporting.
• Extensive knowledge in Excel
• Extensive experience from working with Big Data
• Solid experience using Hyperion FM or other large consolidation systems. (Knowledge in SAP is a plus)
• Great knowledge in IFRS accounting standards
• Fluent English and native Swedish both verbally and in writing.
