Who we are:

Volvo Cars are on an exciting journey to expand its in-house software development capabilities. At the department CSC/Core System Component within SWEP, we are part of this aspiration surely.

Our teams are building LPC/FIOC and Zone Controller products, designed to host different vehicle applications Software from each various domain. We are also in charge of the entire electronics hardware development of Configured Computing Infrastructures, including Core-computer VCU hardware and ADPM hardware as well.

We are looking for multiple Engineering Managers, based out of our Headquarters in Gothenburg, to lead global teams within this organisation. 

What you'll do 

As an Engineering Manager at Volvo Cars you are responsible for Product, Execution and Team Management within your area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Direction: Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
• Organizational Capability Building: Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions to build their capabilities. Provide training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
• Performance Management: Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
• Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
• Internal Client Relationship Management: Manage relationships with internal clients and act as a business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and managing the deployment of appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.

What you'll bring 

In order to excel in this role, we are seeking an individual with proven technical expertise with AutoSar Software development safe, ideally within the automotive industry. 

You are result oriented and have the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner. As a leader, you have a record of empowering teams, and you are known to get things done, even if the pressure is high or when the path forward is unclear. 

Requirements: 

• 5+ years of experience of in-house AutoSar Sofware & Electronics product development from either OEM or Tier-1 supplier

• 3+ years of experience of team management in a people leadership position

• Good communication skills in English 

You will report to the Department Head of Core System Component, as a part of the management team. 

The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
