Here is a golden opportunity within Manufacturing Engineering Commodity, where we are looking for a new Engineering Manager who will be a part of Manufacturing Engineering Painted Body & Geo assurance, belonging to Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization. Your future team is responsible for global process design along with securing a manufacturable product that can be implemented in Body shops globally.
 

You will work as an engineering manager and lead a commodity team that is part of Manufacturing Engineering Painted Body & Geo assurance. Your responsibility will be to secure a manufacturable product and to develop and implement process solutions for new car projects, model years and running changes into our body shops. The team consists of 13 people, and you will report to the director of Commodity Painted Body & Geo. We are looking for a person who can demonstrate personal leadership in support the company business objectives, coach and guide people in change and is a person who truly lives our Volvo Cars WE Culture.

What you'll do

Your main tasks will be to lead, develop and manage the ME Commodity Front Structure team. We believe that you can organize work and resources so that company objectives, short and long-term are met in an efficient manner. You will also contribute as an active member in the commodity management team where you can bring in new ideas and reflections. Based on analysis and scenarios of the future skills needs, you will support the business to identify gaps and opportunities and develop solid plans for how, and where, to acquire, upskill and re-skill talent to secure business critical competencies

What you'll bring

This is the role for you with several years of experience in working within a global company. You also have a university level education and experience of process and product design for body in white or other relevant areas. For us it is essential that you are curious in learning and will be the go-to person for expertise related to this area. Therefore, a positive attitude and understanding of different perspectives combined with balancing stakeholders is important. This together with the willingness to coach and support to contribute to organizational development.
 

Fluency in English is required, both written and spoken and you also need to have the flexibility to travel. We believe in the importance of diverse groups and in this recruitment process we welcome applicants both inside and outside Manufacturing Engineering.
 

The position is located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
