Volvo Cars is committed to go fully electric and mastering the battery is a key for us to succeed. A key aspect is to master our data, and if you have a passion for structuring data and creating efficient pipelines, then you should join our small, but growing, field data team at Traction Battery. The team develops end-to-end analytical solutions and works at the intersection of battery expertise, advanced AI and analytics, empowering data-driven decision making.
What You’ll Do
You will design, build and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that enable transformative insights. You’ll collaborate in cross-functional teams to build robust systems that support advanced analytics, predictive modeling and real-time decision making. Our team takes on broad responsibilities, which also means that curiosity and knowledge with analytics and machine learning is desirable.
Your results will be used by many internal stakeholders within the company, to contribute to the next generation of battery systems, and ensuring the quality and experience of our customer vehicles. You will also contribute to an increased usage of data driven development within the company in general and facilitate interactions with the rest of the data community in the company.
What you’ll bring
You share our passion for vehicle electrification and enjoy being part of a team. Your analytic ability, creativity and interaction with different teams create a great atmosphere for innovative solutions. You have conceptual thinking, not afraid of taking vital actions when required.
The essential qualifications:
- A master’s degree in engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum a couple of years of relevant experience in the field
- Strong skills in Python and SQL
- Experience in Big Data Technologies like Pyspark, Ray
- Experience in ETL processes and streaming data
- Understanding of database design
- Experience in platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory
- Experience in cloud platforms like Azure
Bonus qualifications:
- Version control tools for collaborative development (Git)
- DevOps tools such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Github Actions and ArgoCD
- AI/Machine learning
- BI tools like Dash, Power BI, Tableau or similar
