You will be part of Volvo Cars Safety Centre and more specifically the group Crashworthiness Targets & Concepts. We operate on complete vehicle level, securing that our products meet the high standards of Volvo Cars Safety within the field of Crashworthiness. We are responsible to have updated and relevant requirements to guide the design process. We lead and govern the Crashworthiness aspects of car programs and are responsible to develop strategies aiming for enhanced safety needs of tomorrow. We are now looking for an experienced Analysis Engineer to join our Safety Crashworthiness team.
What you'll do
As Crash Analysis Engineer you will be acting on Complete Vehicle level, analyzing and understanding various parts of crashworthiness.
You will develop our requirements by leading the target setting process. You will also perform and/or lead cross-functional deep-dive-studies on complete vehicle level to support decisions.
The main responsibilities of the Complete Vehicle Crash Analysis Engineer are:
• Perform and/or lead cross-functional deep-dive-studies on complete vehicle level to support decisions.
• Develop requirements and targets.
• Drive assignments to develop new technologies of complex nature
• Support the development of new concepts
• Support in Program management
What you'll bring
As a Complete vehicle Analysis Engineer, you are expected to have a good overview of Safety principles and broad knowledge in multiple areas of passive Safety. You are self-propelled and take initiative. You are experienced in writing requirements and technical guidelines. You are also expected to develop the Crashworthiness attribute by defining and executing/leading exploratory studies to increase our knowledge and capabilities. You will be part of a curious team with the ambition to constantly improve the way we do things.
You have leadership skills and feel comfortable to lead cross-functional teams addressing various complex technical issues. You are a self-driven and result oriented team player. You are expected to plan your activities according to the team’s agreed priorities and commit to delivering in time.
Additional skills are:
· MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics or similar
· Documented experience in the Crash Safety domain
· Fluency in English (written and spoken)
· Positive attitude and an open mind
· Strong problem-solving skills for unique challenges
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex problems
· Concise technical communication skills and the ability to align multiple stakeholders
