What you’ll do

As Commodity Manufacturing Engineer you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phases within the commodity area within Volvo Cars. Your main tasks will be to assure a flawless introduction of car programs into our plants. You will lead and coordinate activities within the defined area of responsibility and continuously strive for commonality within all the Volvo Cars plants global. 

You will also ensure the input to Analysis and Verification needs, drive and follow-up quality, man hours, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility, and change over, the within area of responsibility as well as create and upgrade assembly instructions for production. Other tasks are to create and upgrade FMEA for your defined area and Follow-up of cost within responsible area, lead, give input, report concerns and coordinate the manufacturing process within Product & Quality and represent Manufacturing Engineering as well as within Manufacturing Engineering and Product & Quality.


Do you fit the profile?

We are looking for a candidate with technical competence as well as practical experience of the production processes and/or design development. We think you have a driver’s license B and are fluent in English, spoken and written.

Other meritorious skills you might have could be within 6 Sigma and Swedish language.

To succeed in the role you need to enjoy working in a team and you have good communication and planning skills because this is something you will use daily in your work tasks. In order to achieve the above you are open, creative, positive and have the ability to listen to others.

In order to fully enjoy the job you are target oriented, you see opportunities rather than difficulties and you have good analytical abilities.

Lastly you have a great ability to organize and prioritize your own work task and you enjoy working in a cross-functional and multi-cultural team.
