Volvo Cars is in the process of developing and industrializing the future propulsion systems based on HV battery and Electric Drive Units.
At Commodity ME Propulsion Components, we develop and implement quality assured, flexible, and effective products and process solutions in our plants worldwide. We are working cross functionally and project oriented, supporting all Volvo Cars production plants and car programs globally. We are now looking for a new team member taking on the role as Commodity launch Leader.
What you'll do
As our next Commodity Launch Leader, you will lead our local commodity resources, ensuring ME PC Commodity deliveries during the industrial launch phase. You will be the primary contact for the team, representing ME PC Commodity in launch activities and meetings.
Your responsibilities will include frequent travel to provide both onsite and remote support, working closely with local teams, Project Managers (PMs), and Area Leaders.
Additionally, you will:
- Prioritize, coordinate, and lead local commodity resources in product and method verification.
- Maintain constant communication with Commodity MPLs and CMEs to resolve issues before, during, and after builds.
- Provide product and process feedback to Engineering and Manufacturing teams.

To succeed in this role, you bring extensive manufacturing engineering competence. You are action-oriented and adaptable, thriving in dynamic environments like our manufacturing plants. Your strong coordination and planning abilities are complemented by excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. With a positive attitude and a proactive approach, you tackle every challenge head-on.
We believe you:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering work experience (Product/process development).
- Are fluent in English, both oral and written, enabling you to communicate effectively in a global setting.
- Excel in analytical work, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Have a global approach and mindset, essential for managing international responsibilities
