Within the Energy department at Propulsion and Energy Engineering, we are shaping the future of electric mobility. We develop complete energy and charging solutions that make everyday life easier – and more sustainable – for electric vehicle users around the world.
In the Energy Products team, we take ideas all the way from early concept and technical strategy to market ready home charging products, such as the Volvo wallbox. Our team brings together specialists from many disciplines: technical project managers, HW/SW engineers, full-stack and cloud developers, and technical experts who share a passion for building meaningful, user centric energy products.
Our cloud development supports this mission by enabling wallbox backend services, installer support tools, and digital capabilities that bring our physical products to life.
What you'll do
As a Cloud Developer with a focus on device integration and cloud infrastructure management, you will play a key role in contributing to the future of our energy ecosystem. You will join a collaborative, self organizing cloud development team working primarily with .NET and AWS. Your work contributes to secure, scalable, and user centric cloud solutions that enhance the everyday experience of Electric Vehicle users and installers globally. In this role, you will:
• Build and refine backend features for our energy device cloud
• Create and integrate scalable, cloud native services
• Enhance system performance, reliability, and usability
• Work closely with developers, testers, and the broader Energy Products team
• Take initiative, communicate openly, and bring creativity to solving complex problems
What you'll bring
You are an experienced cloud/backend developer who is comfortable working across the stack, with skills such as: .NET, C#, AWS, Kafka, SQS/SNS, ECS with Fargate, .net Orleans, DynamoDB.
You bring experience in:
• Integrating complex systems in cloud environments
• AWS management and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with cloud security in distributed systems
• Event driven architectures
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
It is also highly meritorious if you have:
• Experience in energy systems and protocols such as OCPP
• Experience in building APIs using GraphQL or gRPC
• Knowledge and experience working with TLS Certificates
• A general understanding of EMS (Energy Management System)
You have at least 5 years of working experience and a bachelor’s degree in relevant field.You work analytically and in a structured way. You see continuous testing and quality assurance as essential parts of development. You thrive in collaborative, dynamic environments and enjoy working in diverse, international teams.
