What’s in it for you?

As a Tooling and Equipment Paint Engineer within Manufacturing Engineering, you will develop and implement quality-assured, flexible, effective, and reliable production systems and equipment solutions in our Paint shops.

Our mission is to develop and perform process related equipment projects within Paint locally and globally, as well as manage the installations projects in our plants.
Now we are looking to hire a new colleague whom has a Paint Process competence and will plan, coordinate and lead equipment projects for the plant.

The challenge the next coming years is to modify our existing lines for our next generation of cars and further develop the paint production systems to be flexible, achieve low labour & overhead cost, have high technical availability and maintainability.

 

What are the tasks of an Equipment Engineer in our Ghent team?

  • Leads or executes equipment projects (develops, calculates, plans, procures, and verifies) for the plants.
  • Creates and analyses the equipment part of the process layouts.
  • Performs safety-, reliability- and cost analyses.
  • Performs Equipment FMEA.
  • Supports the running production (Industrial Engineering, Production and Maintenance) with third line analysis within the area of responsibility.
  • Transfers competence within the area of responsibility to Production and Maintenance.
  • Contributes to development of instructions and routines within the area.
  • Follows the decided working methods such as VPDS and applicable BMS routines.
  • Develops equipment strategies, in some cases in an SME group as driver or participant.
  • Leads or support AE (Advanced Engineering) assignments within the area of responsibility.
  • Contributes in annual work and pre-PS phases with specialist competence, works for Process Driven Product Design.
  • Lead and support in risk assessment activities.
  • Reporting status and deviations in decided systems / tools and ensure that there are action plans to reach targets.
  • Plan and prioritize task according to delivery and verification need, contribute to balance work within team.
  • Communicate with transparency, escalate and handshake deviations in time.

 

Do you fit the profile?

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment installation projects (systems design and integration).
  • Good communication, collaboration and negotiation skills with internal, external customers and stakeholders.
  • Builds trust with others and ensures Ownership to meet commitments
  • Consistently achieve results.
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.
