Training Specialist

Training Specialist

 

The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering HR training to all levels of Volvo employees; maintaining records of all training, designing and developing training materials and courses to address needs, and utilizing multiple forms of training media.

 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Plan, develop, and deliver soft skill, onboarding, and some technical training 
  • Establish cadence of delivery of training content to ensure the ability of employees to develop competencies
  • Develop training materials for new soft skill courses and provide guidance across the organization
  • Document training events including course enrollments and completion
  • Compile and publish training metrics using a learning management system
  • Develop and review training plans and curricula
  • Provide HR training coordination and support
  • Partner with the business to identify compliance gaps, and identify where training can be a solution
  • Run blue collar assessment centers and provide professional, discreet, feedback
  • Create and run team development workshops catered to individual team needs, assessments results, and development centers
  • Run DiSC workshops with teams on request to improve team interactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Four year degree in Education, Training, HR or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience training in a manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate / advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications 
  • Experience directing structured learning experiences
  • Experience developing training materials, including presentations
  • Experience conducting training needs analyses
  • Experience compiling and publishing training metrics
  • Experience with LMS administration
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication / presentation skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organization and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability in instructional design and adult learning theory
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated training & facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Team player with excellent project management skills and the ability to follow through to completion
  • Able to manage multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment
