Distribution Manager

Job Summary:           

This position is responsible for leading the region with wholesaling objectives producing executive summaries of free-flowing inventories monthly.   Managing the allocated/unallocated cars and moving them to market hubs also creating fast moving mask for six markets and changing unallocated units to match.  Working closely with market managers and managing and filling retailer inventory request daily.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Eexecutive summaries of wholesale availability each month on the beginning of month.
  • Achieve wholesale Regional/Market Objectives monthly
  • Maintain regional ordering masks /reviewing monthly
  • Work with and provide guidance to market managers and retailers with inventory gaps
    • Modify buffer cars.
    • Manage cars on hold and moving them to hubs
  • Amend type of sale in VISTA after the handover/RDR requested from retailer/market manager.
  • Model / variant change requests through national from retailer / market manager in VISTA.
  • Monitor the SRorder@Volvocars.com for:
    • ETA inquiries through National/TMS or OBL.
    • Expedite requests through OBL re ranking cars for early processing.
    • Obtain missing delivery receipts from OBL that are missing.
    • RDR cancellations
    • Vehicle transfers (especially involving cars from other regions) / Vehicle locates
    • Check regional buffers for requests for transfer in by dealers.
  • De-allocation requests from market managers ONLY (VISTA).
    • Managing delivery holds and Releasing holds / sold orders in VISTA. (except CBV units)
  • Communicate primary allocations to region & reconcile allocation from national.
  • Secondary allocations filling gaps /creating in Excel.
    • One model per store allocated
    • DS rebalancing of unallocated inventory
    • Model year change
    • Creating monthly retailer distribution newsletters with secondary allocation
    • Email weekly available car lists to dealers and managing allocation
  • Work with national on flips for month-end close to report.
  • Reporting demos or service loaners in VISTA..
  • Manager manufacturer license plates assigned to the region.
  • Managing regional test cars and pool cars.

    Competencies/Experience/Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with broad knowledge of EXCEL and Power Point and Power BI and Retail automotive industry experience preferred.  Strong product knowledge preferred.
  • Results oriented – works towards goals, setting high standards for self and others.
  • Ability to analyze data and data systematically and utilize this information to develop strategy.
  • Ability to communicate, both written and orally, on a professional level.
  • Customer oriented, proactive, team-oriented and solutions-focused attitude.
  • Ability to utilize a PC to communicate, analyze data, track trends, Use of Microsoft Office Suite.
