Product Performance Engineer - EMEA

We are people who want to make a difference.

Volvo Cars has always put people at the heart of what we do. Understanding them and remaining curious to their demands motivates us to work together to create the products and offers that deliver personal, sustainable, and safe mobility. If you’re ready to embrace the opportunity this represents and play a vital role in our ongoing transformation, you could be our new Product Performance Engineer.

Who we are

In Product Performance EMEA we are spread over a wide geographic area but work as a close team, supporting each other.

We are part of Global Technical Support, where you are part of a global team with the purpose to safeguard that our consumers continuously have the freedom to move, by providing preventative & precise support for our mobility solutions.

The automotive industry is currently undergoing a significant transformation inspired by changing consumer behaviours, technology shifts and digitalization. Within Product Performance, we work in this changing environment by applying our data driven and customer-oriented approach to enable others to see and understand the customer experience when a defect caused by a quality deviation occurs.

Our mission is to provide customers with solutions for their problems by acting preventatively, at high speed with maximum precision.

If you share our drive to keep our customers satisfied and mobile and want to be part of a solid team – Then Product Performance is the place for you.

What you will do

As a Product Performance Engineer based in Belgium, you will be part of the Market Monitoring team for EMEA and represent the ‘voice of the market’ for the countries that you are responsible for. You will also be part of the global Product Performance team.

You are the interface between markets and the central organisation. Your main task is to identify product defects caused by quality deviations and prioritise them toward the central teams. You will then develop these issues for fast resolution and maintain a dialogue with the central teams and the respective sales companies to communicate updates.

You and your skills

You have experience from Data science and Quality improvement within the Automotive industry (or equivalent work life experience), a degree in engineering, full language skills in Flemish, French and English, both in writing and speaking, additional languages are meritorious. Aftermarket experience and product technical knowledge would be an advantage.

On a personal level

As a person you are organised with a practical and analytic approach to your tasks. You are open minded and positive, a team-player with great communication skills.

You will work well as part of a remote team. You will also be able to work individually and with autonomy and a high level of personal responsibility. You adapt easily to different situations and specific needs. High customer focus, courage, and an ability to balance stakeholders are also important competences in this role.
