What you'll do

Your Mission as Sr. AI/ML Developer

As a Sr. AI/ML Developer, you will drive digital innovation,leading critical technology initiatives with global teams. You’lldesign and implement solutions impacting millions worldwide,supporting Volvo’s vision for autonomous, electric, andconnected vehicles.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Development

- Lead development and implementation using Python, SQL,Spark, and Azure cloud technologies.

- Design, build, and maintain scalable solutions supportingglobal operations.

- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across theUSA.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner internationally using Microsoft Teams, Slack,SharePoint, and Azure DevOps.

- Participate in Agile processes and sprint planning.

- Share knowledge and maintain technical documentationacross regions.

- Support 24/7 operations through on-call rotations andincident management.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

- Research emerging technologies to enhance platformcapabilities.

- Contribute to roadmap planning and architecture decisions.

- Mentor junior team members and encourage knowledgesharing.

- Experience in project management, focusing on Agile andScrum methodologies, facilitating ceremonies, and drivingcontinuous improvement within cross-functional teams.Strong stakeholder management skills with experiencecollaborating across product, design, development, andleadership teams to ensure alignment and delivery.

What you'll bring

- 5+ years hands-on experience in software development or related fields.
- Deep expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud-native technologies with proven implementation success.
- Experience collaborating with global teams across time zones.
- Preferred industry knowledge in automotive, manufacturing, or enterprise software.
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced skills in core technologies: Python, SQL, Spark, and Azure cloud platforms.
- Strong grasp of cloud platforms, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with enterprise integration and microservices architecture.
- Skilled in database design and optimization with SQL and NoSQL.

3 MUST HAVE
1. Shipped multiple models to production (not just notebooks), with monitoring, alerting, and retraining plans; can discuss incidents and postmortems.
2. Python + SQL + Spark, containers, CI/CD, testing, feature stores, model registry (e.g., ML flow), observability; cloud-native on Azure
(Databricks/Azure ML, AKS, APIM, Event Grid, Key Vault).
3. feature engineering, experiment design, offline/online metrics, bias/fairness checks, and “right-model-for-right-problem” judgment.

3 NICE TO HAVE
1. GenAI / RAG experience
2. Mentors others, sets coding/ML standards, runs design reviews, partners with product/data/infra, and contributes to hiring & roadmap.
