The Corporate Cybersecurity team’s responsibility is to guide, advise and protect Volvo Cars' and its customers by designing and embedding security in everything we do. Our security teams consist of experts in all areas of cybersecurity – cyber security defence center 24/7 operation and cyber defence products.

You will be part of the product organization within the Cyber Defence Center (CDC), which consists of Product Engineering and Product Management. Two sides of the same coin, collaborating closely to protect Volvo Cars by maintaining, enhancing, and developing cyber defence products. Cyber Defence Engineering is represented by several product teams, where each team is responsible for building and delivering products related to a specific cybersecurity domain.

What you'll do

In your role as Engineering Manager for Cyber Defence Engineering India, you will be accountable for the management and development of your team members. It will be your responsibility to ensure that each individual receives the necessary guidance and development to effectively contribute to the product teams to which they are assigned.

The overall delivery responsibility for Cyber Defence Products Engineering rests with the Engineering Manager of the entire Product Engineering organization, to whom you will report and collaborate closely. As Cyber Defence Engineering India grows and matures, the aim is to delegate delivery responsibility for specific product engineering teams to you, thereby expanding the scope and responsibilities of your role.

Additionally, you will support the continuous improvement of the product engineering function, its operating model, processes, ways of working, and long-term strategy, in close collaboration with the individual engineering teams and the product management function

You act as a coach and mentor, helping team members grow both on a technical and personal level.

You know how to navigate a global enterprise organization by working closely with global stakeholders, including Product Managers, Engineering managers, and other leaders across various locations. Ensure alignment on strategic priorities and foster effective communication across teams.

You can support the engineers in implementing engineering practices well matched towards their respective product areas.

You stay current on industry trends and technologies in cybersecurity, data engineering, and software development, bringing new insights to the team and the organization.

You can think holistically and strategically and have experience from contributing to development of strategy and strategic frameworks for strategy.
