What you'll do

As a Java Full Stack Developer within our AI and Automation team, you will be part of an agile group dedicated to designing and maintaining the Digital Employee Experience (DEX) layer at Volvo Cars. The DEX layer is designed to transform the daily work of Volvo Cars staff by offering advanced AI agents, chatbots, and automation solutions that enhance employee experience and productivity. This platform is continuously evolving, with its scope expanding to address new challenges and opportunities.

All employees worldwide depend on DEX layer for productivity applications. The DEX layer must be robust, responsive, and capable of handling high volumes of digital transactions, ensuring seamless support and engagement. It is the responsibility of the DEX team to deliver these capabilities, thereby strengthening employee satisfaction and reinforcing the Volvo Cars brand experience.

• Develop software, design and execute system and service tests, and ensure applications meet requirement - Maintain the complete software build and CI flow.
• Collaborate with international cross-tech teams to deliver impactful, cost-effective solutions.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills to address data challenges and optimise processes.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices.
• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve technology issues while supporting team members with design activities using established procedures.

What you'll bring

• 8-10 years of experience in full stack application development using Java (for backend) and JavaScript/Typescript (for frontend).
• 3-5 years of experience as a senior developer/lead developer/team leader.
• Expertise building micro-services using Spring Boot / Node JS.

• Strong understanding of Python.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8S) and Docker.
• Experience in developing solutions using Azure storage and compute solutions. It’s preferable if the candidate has completed one of the following azure certifications (AZ-204, AZ- 305).
• Proven experience working with Azure AI solutions, especially AI Foundry and AI Search. It’s good to have completed one of following azure certifications (AI-900, AI-102).
• Experience in developing distributed event-driven applications using brokers such as Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, Solace, or Azure Event Hub.
• Proven experience in working with DevOps frameworks, GIT, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience developing integrations using established Enterprise Application Integration patterns and tools such as Apache Camel
• Worked with latest monitoring & alerting tools (Ex Grafana).
• Hands on experience with at least one RDBMS and one No SQL DB.
• Good to have experience on Test Automation Frameworks
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and communicating project progress to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated expertise in delivery planning, including the ability to create, manage, and adapt delivery schedules to meet evolving business needs.
• Experience in developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, Co-Pilot Studio and M365 SDK is considered as an advantage.
