The role being offered is for a DevOps Java Software Developer at Volvo Cars' India Tech hub in Bangalore, as part of the Order Scheduling team. The position emphasizes software development that contributes significantly to the company's digital ecosystem, aiming to simplify customers' lives and lead in the automotive industry.

What you'll do

The developer will work on the ARO application, an order scheduling system used globally by order coordinators and production planners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Enhancing the application with improved performance and new functionalities
  • Developing microservices based on a Java backend
  • Working with a web application frontend
  • Providing support to our customers and applications connected with us

You will work with an experienced development team on the ARO application, an order scheduling system used by order coordinators and production planners globally. The application is currently being thoroughly enhanced with improved performance and new functionality developed as microservices based on a Java backend and a web application frontend.

What you'll bring

You should have proven experience in Java, HTML5, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript, and experience using frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Java EE. Experience working with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, REST, and JSON, as well as knowledge of relational databases, is also important.

Things that would be good to know or learn to excel in this role are microservices architecture, full test automation (Selenium/Zalenium), Prometheus, Grafana, AngularJS, SQL, and a good understanding of UX Design.

You are a curious and open-minded person who is genuinely interested in developing your skillsets together with a team. You are willing to develop into a T-shaped profile by expanding your knowledge over time into different areas of specialization.
