As a Senior Software Engineer – FullStack in the Connect Platform team, you will play a key role in building and evolving a modular, scalable digital platform that supports retailers, national sales companies, and Volvo Cars centrally.
You will be part of a team focused on creating high-quality, reusable, and scalable frontend solutions that enable a consistent and seamless digital experience across the Connect Platform ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain modern web applications while contributing to the overall technical direction and evolution of the platform.
This role is frontend-heavy, with a strong focus on React, JavaScript and TypeScript. You will also have the opportunity to work with modern engineering practices, CI/CD workflows, and platform integrations.

What you'll do

Main responsibilities 
•  Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and maintainable applications with a strong focus on React, JavaScript and TypeScript.
•  Build modular frontend solutions using modern architecture patterns such as micro frontends and module federation.
•  Work in a monorepo setup, contributing to shared libraries, reusable components, dependency management, and multiple applications within a scalable platform ecosystem.
•  Collaborate with product, design, backend, and platform teams to deliver seamless and high-quality digital experiences.
•  Contribute to the development and adoption of shared frontend components, patterns, and engineering standards.
•  Ensure applications are performant, responsive, accessible, and maintainable.
•  Write clean, well-tested, and high-quality code following modern software engineering practices.
•  Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality, technical standards, and development practices.
•  Troubleshoot and resolve complex frontend and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
•  Contribute to improving development workflows and collaborate with teams on CI/CD and deployment processes.
•  Work closely with globally distributed teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

What you'll bring

Technical Proficiency:
•  5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on frontend development.
•  Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript and TypeScript.
•  Strong experience with modern frontend architecture, including micro frontends and module federation.
•  Experience working in a monorepo setup, including managing shared libraries, reusable components, dependencies, and multiple applications within a large-scale frontend ecosystem.
•  Strong understanding of dependency management and strategies for maintaining scalable and modular applications.
•  Solid understanding of modern frontend architecture, component-based development, and reusable design patterns.
•  Experience building scalable, modular, and maintainable web applications.
•  Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern browser capabilities.
•  Experience with frontend testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
•  Good understanding of software craftsmanship, including Clean Code, SOLID principles, maintainability, and documentation.
•  Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and workflows, preferably with GitHub Actions.
•  Experience working with REST APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend services.
•  Familiarity with performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting complex frontend applications.
•  Understanding of accessibility and web performance best practices.   

 Nice to Have:
•  Experience with Developer Experience (DevEx) practices, developer tooling, or improving engineering workflows.
•  Hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript for backend or platform development.
•  Hands-on experience with Go (Golang).
•  Experience with cloud platforms and modern deployment environments.
•  Familiarity with containerized applications and modern software delivery practices.
•  Exposure to observability concepts and tools for monitoring applications.
•  Experience working with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows.
