This role is within our Digital team, where we leverage modern digital technologies to build tools and solutions that enable proactive, effortless services for Volvo users worldwide. Our mission is to deliver a leading customer experience, meeting customers where they are and when they need us.


You will be part of a global, cross-functional setup with teams located in Sweden, Bangalore, the US, and Shanghai. Many of your colleagues bring experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft, Klarna, EA Games, and more.
We are building and evolving products on platforms such as Salesforce, while also expanding into custom backend services, integrations, and modern AI-enabled solutions.

What you'll do

You will contribute to the design, development, integration, and quality of backend-heavy full-stack solutions, while supporting modern automation, CI/CD, and AI-enabled capabilities.

Your responsibilities include:
•    Design and develop backend services and integrations, with a strong focus on Python. Good to have experience with Java/ .NET/ Kotlin.
•    Build and consume APIs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and testability.
•    Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, from frontend to backend to database.
•    Support and contribute to automated testing, including API and integration testing.
•    Work closely with platform and DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
•    Participate in defining architecture, integration patterns, and best practices.
•    Contribute to initiatives leveraging GenAI and agentic AI for development, automation, or operational efficiency.
•    Take ownership of quality across the stack, ensuring robust, production-ready solutions.

What you'll bring

Required / Primary Skills
•    4+ years of experience in software engineering or full-stack development.
•    Strong backend engineering experience with Python (primary).
•    Experience with Java, .NET, Kotlin and JavaScript/TypeScript (secondary focus).
•    Solid experience in API development, integration, and testing.
•    Good understanding of database integration and data persistence.
•    Exposure to end-to-end system architecture and full development lifecycle.
•    Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including:
o    Azure DevOps and GitHub (primary)
o    CI/CD pipelines
Good to Have / Plus
•    Experience with containerization, release management, and pipeline management.
•    Exposure to low-code platforms such as Salesforce.
•    Proven or practical experience using GenAI and agentic AI in real projects.
•    Understanding of full-stack development and integration processes across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
