What you'll do

This role is part of Data and Analytics team which provides competence to Products Areas, Clusters and Teams to succeed in delivering business value by turning data into Insights. Expected to Utilize standards and best practices to enable Business areas to accelerate their value journey through Self-Service data & analytics, and to accomplish “insights at the fingertips” for Volvo Car Group. Provides opportunity to mentor developers to build quality products, contribute to multiple domains and be part of technology selection/solution architecture.

Main responsibilities 

 Act as Technology expert to build quality data products with willingness to self-learning and long-term commitment. Interact with Product teams, architects, and platform experts to deliver user stories on timely basis with world class quality.

What you'll bring

• B.E, MCA, BSc, MSc, or equivalent training in Computer Science or other relevant subject area

Experience:

• 10 + years of industry experience and 6+ years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing

Core Responsibilities:

• Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing end-to-end architecture

• Act as a senior advisor and hands-on expert in Power BI with a flexible, system- and tool-agnostic mindset.

• Engage with business stakeholders to clarify value or explorative ideas and translate them into well-defined & impactful use-cases to implement.

• Evaluate and recommend optimal approaches and technologies to solve business problems effectively and responsibly.

• Expertise in RDBMS concepts and SQL optimization

• Ability to recommend KPIs, perform POCs/Demos, and enable self-service BI

• Good understanding of multiple business domains (Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Commercial, Service Management, R&D) and delivering KPIs for these areas

• Proficient in data modelling techniques (Dimensional modelling, Data Marts)

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications

• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems

• Design, build, and deploy BI solutions (reports, dashboards, data models)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources and enhance visualization capabilities

Primary Technology Skills (Must-have):

• BI Reporting: Power BI (mandatory), experience with DAX and Paginated Reports.

• Database: Snowflake (mandatory), MS SQL Server/Teradata/MySQL

• Strong SQL programming and debugging skills

• Ability to design and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures

• Knowledge of DBT for data transformations

• Knowledge of ETL tools (ADF, Where scape)

• Basic Python skills for integration with Power BI

• Skilled in data visualization using Power BI components

Secondary Technology Skills:

• Working knowledge of Cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP optional)

• Understanding of Big Data tools (Spark SQL, PySpark)

• Familiarity with Data Governance and Master Data Management

• Experience conducting Power BI training for end users

• Data engineering experience
