As a Data Platform Engineer in Data Platforms you will support and maintain robust end-to-end platform capabilities that enable data and analytics teams across the organization to deliver value from data, whilst building a culture of collaboration and data excellence.  

We are mandated to define and build a data platform based on modern technology to host our company-wide data mesh for the rapidly growing data community at Volvo Cars.

Main responsibilities 

As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for DevOps of business critical data platform capabilities in collaboration with the team, product managers and the data engineering community.  

By contributing with expertise and teamwork you will be instrumental in our mission to transform the data ecosystem to empower our company with trusted data. 

We are in an early phase of our transformation journey so you will have a key role in contributing to our technical direction and forming a great team culture.

As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be an empowered member in one of our committed teams that support, maintains and develops our Data & Analytics platform in collaboration with other teams.  In this role, team contributors thrive best. You should also have experience in data engineering, Visualization (BI), Analytics, the modern data stacks, cloud infrastructure and be fluent in spoken and written English. 
 
Visualization Platform Engineer role description
We are looking for a platform engineer with the responsibility to support and manage our organization-wide settings that control how Visualization works.

As a Visualization platform engineer, we see that you have these responsibilities and skills: 
•    Work as an administrator of Power BI Gateways and Tableau Bridges 
•    Monitor, govern and enhance Power BI and Tableau Gateway/Bridge platforms at a global scale 
•    Act as a technical expert towards business for issues and incidents 
•    Work together with Microsoft/Tableau on issues and incidents
•    Enhance and develop knowledgebase articles
•    Power BI and Tableau capacity management 
•    Workspace management 
•    Support business teams with best practices 
•    Actively perform continuous improvement activities at service and platform level 
•    Learn, train & implement new business intelligence and data analytics concepts 
•    Conducting user trainings to business users global and regional 
•    We see that you have 2-3 years of work experience of a similar assignment and have a good understanding about Power Bi and/or Tableau in an enterprise environment
•    Good understanding about Microsoft Azure 
•    Power Bi & Tableau Desktop 

Additional requirements:
•    Good if the person has worked as a Power BI/Tableau developer so that the person also may support the business.
