This role is part of our global platforms team, this is horizontal role cuts across multiple products across different product areas, this will add value in getting good understanding of different business process/functions within automotive / manufacturing domain. In Volvo Cars digital we do have exciting digital roadmap and you will be part of this exciting journey. 

Main responsibilities 
o    New/modify/delete of account in databases
o    Create schema and/or database tables
o    Hosting covers: 
o    Weekly schema object sizing 
o    Daily monitoring of data block organization, physical storage and contention, table space utilization
o    Application is based on Development / Projects
o    Download file to disk
o    New or revised database design
o    Database creation activities and changes as required by the application
o    Index creation
o    Export or import (of data)
o    Providing functional guidance to the systems programmer and the operator
o    User management and access review
o    Providing functional guidance to the systems programmer and the operator
o    Provide this functional guidance to the Operating System Administrator
o    Implementation of new database services, tuning, reorg and establishing relevant processes
o    Shall be responsible for capturing performance issue using performance tuning advisor and scripts and develop solutions to remove bottlenecks.
o    Policy based performance tuning using standard automation tools. Corrective actions will be carried out when these tools indicate resource usage above defined thresholds
o    Monitoring of events from applications, databases, and related components / platforms

Do you fit the profile? 
We are looking for DB2 expert to work with our product and infrastructure teams to support and maintain our mainframe databases.  

o    10+ years of DBA experience.
o    Good experience in DB2 with 
    Creation of new DB objects
    Providing access to Group id's in XDEV/IGRT/DEVE/ACPT/PROD
    Cleanup of existing individual id's
    Maintenance of objects in all Env.
    Environment Refresh 
    Troubleshooting, incident resolution, change implementations
    Deployments related to PROD environment changes
    Application operations and maintenance for app DB, deadlocks, connections/sessions analysis, RCA
    Schema level issues during database upgrades and 
    schema Troubleshooting Assistance.
    Performance optimization & implementation with help from Supplier teams & provide suggestions to Customer from DB perspective.
    DB recovery operations during outage/disaster (included if it is caused by bug or failure on the infrastructure).
    Coordinate with SRM & Supplier infra teams (internally), and customers during DB issues
    Suggestion on creating and executing scripts on schema level for performance tuning, query optimization.
    BIND or REBIND of packages
    DB2 version upgrades support
o    Exposure with DL1 database is an added advantage. 
o    Ready to work in 24x7 delivery model (with on call)
