As a Data Engineer, you’ll contribute to Volvo Cars’ vision of becoming a data-driven company. You’ll help design and implement modern data architectures that power insights, analytics, and AI initiatives across business functions.

You’ll work with:

  • Data transformation frameworks such as dbt, and data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
  • Backend engineering for data ingestion and orchestration.
  • Scalable data pipelines supporting real-time and batch processing.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows using dbt.
  • Integrate multiple data sources and optimize data flow for performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with analysts and scientists to design reusable data models.
  • Work with Snowflake or BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, and security.
  • Develop backend systems and APIs for data access and management.

What you'll bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in data engineering or backend development.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
  • Proficient in Python or other backend programming languages.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, GitHub actions and DevOps principles.
  • Curious and passionate about modern data technologies.
  • Excellent communicator and team player with an agile mindset.
