The Digital Tech Hub is an integral part of the digital transformation journey for Volvo Cars. The Tech Hub is a strategic player, providing skills and competencies in areas such as cloud solutions, data science and analytics, SAP, UX/UI and we are part of managing key technology platforms within various domains such as R&D, manufacturing & logistics and the commercial area.

What you'll do

You will be part of Volvo Cars’ Global Automation Engineering Team, working on end-to-end automation solutions that improve key business processes across the company.

You will collaborate closely with other development teams and stakeholders in an agile environment, creating a dynamic and engaging workplace. You will use modern technologies, work with international teams, and help expand automation while building your skills and experience.

We strongly support continuous learning through training and competence development, giving you great opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. Every 10 weeks, you will take part in innovation sprints where new ideas and automation concepts are explored together as a team.

Main Responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering future automation solutions across Volvo Cars’ global business operations.

You will:

  • Collaborate with pre-sales teams and stakeholders to gather, understand, and clarify automation requirements.
  • Identify new automation opportunities by analyzing processes and accurately estimating feasibility and effort.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy end-to-end RPA solutions using Blue Prism, in line with Volvo Cars’ standards, best practices, and automation design principles.
  • Analyze, optimize, and re-engineer existing processes to streamline operations through automation.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation for solutions, processes, and configurations.
  • Conduct thorough testing, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of RPA solutions with existing systems and applications.
  • Provide technical support during implementation and post-implementation phases.
  • Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders regarding project progress and benefits realization.
  • Proactively raise risks, impediments, or challenges at appropriate stages.
  • Collaborate within and outside the team to drive innovation and improvement initiatives.
  • Take end-to-end ownership and accountability for assigned automation projects.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Blue Prism and RPA advancements, best practices, and industry trends.

What you'll bring

We believe you have:

 

  • Blue Prism Professional Developer and/or Solution Designer Certification (APD01 / ASD01)
  • At least 5 years of proven experience delivering end-to-end RPA implementations using Blue Prism
  • Strong expertise in RPA process design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
  • Experience automating across diverse platforms (Web, APIs, Windows, Mainframe, Java, etc.)
  • Strong programming skills in C#, .NET, Java, or Python
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Strong knowledge of automation design principles, including exception handling, error recovery, and logging
  • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and technical problem-resolution skills
  • Well-versed in Agile delivery and DevOps methodologies
  • Strong understanding of business processes with the ability to analyze, optimize, and automate them
  • Experience producing high-quality process documentation (flowcharts, technical specs, solution design documents)
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality, error-free automation solutions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to plan, organize, lead activities, and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within multicultural, global teams
  • Proactive, innovative, and driven by continuous learning and improvement
  • Passion for finding smarter, more efficient ways to get work done
