At Software factory we are building a community with highly skilled personnel. We are harmonizing the workflows and developing tools to be used across R&D, with the aim to accelerate the software development at Volvo Cars. Our main objective is to secure a stable, robust, and secure electrical system for Volvo Cars new SW and Electronics platform. The responsibility area includes: • Developing continuous integration (CI) architecture & infrastructure. • Maintaining the complete software build and CI flow. • Enabling high utilization of infrastructure, test objects and test artefacts. • Creating automated tools & applications to secure an efficient flow. • Supporting traceability to fulfill all legal requirements. • Golden path (aligning the companies tools usage, education) • SIL (virtualizing HW into SW, test system development, test case creation, education) We are applying manufacturing principles and techniques to software development to mimic benefits of traditional manufacturing and creating a software product line.

What you’ll do

In our software integration process, a crucial element is the ability to make decisions based on data. To ensure that this data is both available and of high quality, we have established a dedicated team for data insights. This team's primary responsibilities include the development of data products and the implementation of data management strategies. We need an experienced Product Owner who can lead through people and teams, who can listen and is motivated by creating new solutions together with cross-functional teams. This person is creative, communicative, analytical, and curious and is driven by finding new ways forward by leading and supporting teams in delivering new solutions that give value

 

As a Product Owner for the data insights area, your responsibilities, include:

• Leading the Data Insights Team, which is responsible for creating data products, including visualizations and analytics.

• Overseeing the implementation of data management.

• Ensuring the reliability and quality of the data collected.

• Facilitating data-driven decision-making within the software workflow.

• Utilizing the collected data to provide insights into the quality of our car programs and the software workflow.

 

Role specifics – Product Owner

As a Product Owner (PO) you will maximize value-added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the Team Backlog from a business perspective to streamline execution, while maintaining technical integrity of the features/stories for the team. The work includes aligning and cooperation with other development teams in Volvo Cars. You are the technical leader for the products and deliveries in your teams, leading strong empowered teams with a high level of specialist competence. You drive the team vision and direction, short- and long-term of the product together with the team and relevant stakeholders. You own, build, and prioritize the features and stories in the Team Backlog. You coordinate content dependencies with other Product Owners, and you participate as a member of the Product Management team, review, and contribute to the program-level vision, roadmap, and content presentations.

 

You and your skills

• MSc in Computer Science and Software Engineering or similar relevant experience

• Management experience from leading change, complex tasks, and leading agile teams

• Leadership experience from working on Software and architecture/strategies in large-scaled software-developing organization.

• At least 5 years of experience in software development, software testing, and handling requirements within software projects, along with a background in Data Science or Data Engineering • Experience in setting up technical roadmap.

• High communication and cooperation skills • Fluent in speaking and writing English.

• Strategic and delivery mindset • Problem-Solving Skills • Stakeholder Management

• Product Management Meritorious • Agile frameworks and development such as SAFe

• Business Acumen

• Professional Working Experience (PowerBI/Grafana/SnowFlake/Dbt Dagster/AWS/Azure)
