About the job

Within Connecting Platform in R&D, we build products that enhances the experience of owning a car. Our teams develop connectivity products and services for our vehicles – connecting them anywhere and anytime!

We are looking for people to strengthen our Base tech team within Connectivity Platform. The team is working with Diagnostics, SWDL (Software Download) and Power Management for TCAM (Telematics and Connectivity Antenna Module) component in the vehicle.

As an Embedded System Engineer, your responsibilities include system design and verification of the areas mentioned above, mainly focus on the Power Management of TCAM at Component level and Car level. You will design and verify the logic and behaviour of TCAM in different TCAM Power State (e.g. Active, Standby, DeepSleep, Backup Battery Active/Standby) and Car Usage Mode (e.g. Awake, Available, Driving, Transport). You will define the transition configuration between different modes with right Timer, including TCAM cold boot and wake-up with CAN or Ethernet communication. Both functional and non-functional KPIs need to be verified, including power consumption and charging.

You will work in close collaboration with stakeholders, both internally within Volvo Cars R&D and externally with suppliers, for analysis of fault reports and quality improvement.

 

 

Do you fit the profile ?

We are looking for you with at least a BSc degree in Embedded System Design, or similar.

You have passion for system design and verification of vehicle components, familiar with unit/component/domain/complete test and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) flow.

You are fluent in English, have good communication skills and enjoy collaboration with a diverse set of stakeholders. You take ownership in your work and able to manage uncertainty and problems that do not have clear solutions and outcomes. The work location is Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden.

 

Competence / Tools needed:

  • Vehicle component Power Management system design and verification
  • UDS (Unified Diagnostic Service) protocol
  • CAN / Ethernet communication in vehicle
  • Linux OS
