Vehicle Homologation Leader

Vehicle Homologation Leader (VHL) role is located in product regulation compliance within vehicle release office as part of R&D. 


Product Regulations & Compliance is the company´s center of knowledge when it comes to vehicle design regulations and vehicle certification. We work in all markets where we sell cars. Our Vehicle homologation leader play an important role in supporting the vehicle programs to assure that the Volvo vehicles comply with all applicable regulations, and that they can be certified and thereby possible to register and sell all around the globe. Our task is extremely focused, especially close to start of production, and suits you if you enjoy being “where it happens”.


Main Tasks 

  • To assure that information about current and future requirements and certification prerequisites are known in the program
  • To assure that time plans, estimates of cost and required vehicles for certification activities are made
  • To secure certification database running and keep maintenance.
  • To drive corrective actions (in the project and the line organization) due to deviations occurred within the project task. 
  • To assure that certificates and self-certification documentation are produced according to project plan. 
  • To create the legal document template and share with relevant plants. 


What you will do?

  • Follow decided working procedure in Agile VPDS (Volvo Product Development System) and applicable routines in BMS (Business Management System). To document possible deviations. 
  • Assure that information about current and future requirements are forwarded to the project & product stream.
  • Create that time plans, cost estimates and amount of vehicles & material for certification is established according to time plan.
  • Anchor and follow up the task with regard to decisions, development, status and prognosis with the line organization and thereafter report to the projects.
  • Cross functionally manage so the task results are achieved according to time plan.
  • Collect and follow up the technical information which put into the Certification database.
  • Clearly report certification consequences to the project- and line management when deviations occur.
  • Create legal document templates (Q certificate/EC label/COC/EIP) and cascade to plant quality.

Competence Requirements

  • 4-6 years working experiences in certification area. Had least 1-2 whole vehicle program certification management experiences. EV program management is an advantage.
  • University degree in engineering or equivalent. Insight in agile way of work is an advantage
  • Fluent in English, including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Courageous - Driving critical issues from a regulatory standpoint.
  • Independent - Ability to organize and prioritise own work tasks.
  • You should think it is exciting to work in an environment that has a high pace of change
