Equipment Engineer

Our business since its inception in 1991 has been to develop the best retail dealer system and information services for the automotive industry. In the current situation, we have about 100 employees with expertise in areas such as automotive trade, project management, systems and IT. Some of our largest customers are Volvo, Renault and Ford dealers and their general agents and today we have over 10 000 users of our solutions. We are seated in beautiful, newly renovated premises at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Car Sweden.

Main responsibilities:
•    In charge of model selecting of automatic equipment, setting process solution.
•    Resolve the automation equipment problems in production line, guarantee it's normally operation.
•    Sum up the problem cause and the resolve solution during automation production, accumulate technical experience and upgrade the whole team competence and ability to resolve problems.
•    Coordinate the production line operation increase the equipment operation rate.
•    Establish and update technical equipment specifications within the area: PLC/Automation.
•    Leads or executes equipment projects (develops, calculates, plans, TSU, procures and verifies) for plants in area: PLC/Automation.
•    Define PLC/Automation strategy to meet manufacturing (process) targets.
•    Develops equipment strategies, in some cases in an SMS group as driver or participant.
•    Within the area (PLC/Automation) of responsibility support VCM with specialist competence with the authority to make decisions in technical matters.
•    Define and maintain technical strategies within the area including cross-brand development and integration.
•    Performs safety-, reliability- and cost analyses. 
•    Performs Equipment FMEA. 
•    Follows the decided working methods such as VPDS and applicable BMS routines and E-card / Buy off book. 
•    Secures that Volvo Car Groups strategies, standards and specifications are fulfilled. 
•    Establish and update technical equipment specifications within the area. 
•    To follow up and report own assignments to the manager/supervisor. 
•    Equipment that fulfils all steps in the handing over to end user process .

 

Competencies:

•    Familiar with SIEMENS PLC, experienced to use SIEMENS and WIN CC for programming, experienced to use EPLAN.
•    Working experience with foreign staff in joint venture preferred.
•    High analytical and problem solving skills.
•    Familiar with industrial automation working principle, master the hydraulic, circuit and pneumatic principle diagram and can resolve the problem occur in welding automation line according to the principle diagram.
•    Master the principle of robot and PLC and can analyse and resolve the problems occurred in the automation line effectively .
•    Having the experience of maintenance and management for large automatic welding production line in the whole automobile factory.
•    Accompany  manufacturing and resolve the problems occurred during production in time, guarantee normal operating of production line.
•    Complete the equipment inspection and maintenance, compile and implement equipment management document so on.
•    Obedient to superior, fulfilling   other task assigned by superior.
•    Fluent in English and have the ability to write and read documentation in English.
•    Flexible to take on work tasks outside the responsibility area to support the team.
•    Flexible when it comes to work/supporting other Volvo sites in China and around the World.
